Community ESL Program

Join our emerging esl learners!

At our program, we are committed to helping refugees and asylum-seekers achieve their goals and build a better future for themselves and their families. Our culturally and linguistically-adapted classes are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of our students, ensuring that they receive the best possible linguistic support.

We understand that transportation and childcare can be major barriers to attending classes, so we offer these services to our students at no cost. Our goal is to make sure that all of our students have access to the resources they need to succeed.

At HMI, we believe that learning materials are a critical component of any education program. That's why we offer learning materials to our students, provided by the RCRECSH Grant. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to help our students make measurable gains in their language skills and knowledge, setting them on the path towards greater independence and success.

  • By learning together and supporting one another, our students not only improve their language skills, but also develop lasting connections and friendships.

  • We offer these services to our students at no cost to help gain access these courses.

  • We provide complementary learning materials with the support of the RCRECSH Grant to help our students make measurable gains in their language skills and knowledge. These materials include: student workbooks, binders, assessments, & stationery.

We understand that our students come from diverse cultural backgrounds and have varying levels of education and language abilities. That's why our expert teachers use culturally-sensitive teaching methods and materials to ensure that our classes are accessible and effective for everyone. Our curriculum is carefully designed to meet national assessment and testing minimum standards, ensuring that our students make measurable gains in skills and knowledge.

Our goal is to empower our students towards self-sufficiency, facilitate their path to citizenship, and offer access to relevant civic services. By providing expert teachers and a comprehensive curriculum, we believe that we can help our students achieve greater independence and success in their new homes.
